13 Not Dressed For Adventuring

Like the fool that I am, I sit around all day and think up small trifles that I can give Pern. I like being his secret admirer, though Roan has already told me my hot breeder didn’t even realize he was being admired until Roan broke it all down for him. He also reported back that my cookies were a hit. Pern calls them not-doma, which is funny because the Draconians have crunchy flat bread that everyone here goes wild over. I guess cookies look similar.

Anyways, I’ve decided to try to make it more obvious the things I send are courting gifts. That’s why I’ve decided to make him more cookies and to make them in the shape of hearts.

Truth be told, I’m convinced that if I can romance him on a mental level, there won’t be any more of that limp dick thing going on. Roan insists it’s just how they were raised to be disciplined in that area. I remember the blissful look on Pern’s face when we were naked together, how caring and protective he was over me and how reluctant he was to let me go when we were rescued. This is what kept me from allowing other men to get close. I’ve been hoping against hope that he would change his mind and show up at my door one day. After hearing Roan’s description of the only other female he’s ever been with, I can now say with absolute certainty that we get back together it will be because I make it happen.

The thing is, Pern is the one for me. I can feel it all the way down to my bones. And I want it all with him. I want true love, romance, commitment and family. If he says no, I’ll accept it because I’m not a total nut job, but I hope he doesn’t turn me down flat. I want to be there for him and for our little ones. I’ve seen quite a few mixed species babies since being aboard this vessel, and they’re all really adorable. I can’t wait to meet ours.

I finish wrapping my latest gift of heart shaped cookies and draw a cute heart under his name. I know Draconian males have a very acute sense of smell, so I put each package in my particle decontamination thingy to take away all the fingerprints and scents.

“You are a tireless female. I have to believe that all your hard work will pay off in the end.”

Turning, I grin at Borak. He’s another of Pern’s friends. He’s the elite warrior I think of as the sly one in my own head. I only know him because he tried shoving both his sons at me when I first arrived. One of his sons ended up mated to Miss Molly. All I heard during the few times I bumped into him was how beautiful my flame-haired friend was. The other son spends a lot of time staring at Commander Watson, the general’s daughter.
